Snowsports

There are a number of rental shops around Akakura Village. Our recommendation is Myoko Snowsports. They offer a very large selection of skis and snowboards, as well as helmets, jackets, pants and gum boots. They stock all equipment for children aged 3 yrs up to adults, including very large sizes in ski & snowboard boots.

Myoko Snowsports also provide a shuttle service to collect your equipment, and a on-slope overnight valet service for your skis/poles or snowboard, all complimentary when renting equipment from them.

Myoko Snowsports is the local International Snowsports School, providing lessons, resort orientation, powder programs, inter-resort guiding and private lessons in English. Their instructors come from around the world and all are qualified and experienced.

Children’s group lesson programs are available in 3-6 yrs ski, 7-14 yrs ski and 7-14 yrs snowboard formats. Adult group ski and group snowboard classes are available daily, for all levels of ability from beginner to expert.

Their Multi Resort program is also very popular for intermediate to expert level skiers and snowboarders, which includes private transport to a different local resort area each day, together with an instructor/guide to show you around and provide coaching to build your confidence and skills on the terrain.
